Nokia X6
Many Nokia Xpress Music phones have been introduced in the market but a new series, the Nokia X-Series is added to the assortment of XpressMusic mobile phones. The X-Series is actually added next to the N-Series handsets which highlights multimedia and more business-oriented E-Series. The new X-Series are aimed to maximize the user’s entertainment experience. The first two models are the X3 and the X6. The Nokia X6 is claimed to provide free full navigation. Nokia’s OVI-maps can also be downloaded for the X6. Full GPS navigation software is also expected to be available to extend the number of Nokia smartphones.
The packaging of Nokia X6 is blue and fairly simple as compared to other new Nokia phones. Nokia always has clearly different packaging for its different series. Once the packaging of X6 is opened, you can have the impression that it was a bit of disappointment. The front has a red line and there is a set of three keys under the screen. And above the screen, the multimedia key is located. The back is also simple and the camera has a protective case.
Nokia X6’s menu is also very familiar since it uses the Symbian operating system. And just like Nokia N97 mini and Nokia 5800, the Symbian software runs very smoothly in the X6. The active start screen has numerous hyperlinks and a key to show the keyboard on the screen. The menu can also be accessed just by pushing the button located in the middle underneath the screen. The menu will then appear with twelve icons. Next to the standard functions, the OVI store and OVI cards are also found in the menu.
As mentioned, the Nokia X6 runs smoothly and this phone also reacts quickly, partially due to the operating system, but also the touch screen works excellently. Although the first impression was not very convincing, after having played around with the phone for an hour we have a more positive feeling about the new Nokia X6. Especially in comparison to the Nokia N97 mini, the screen is better, and reacts faster; however, it is a bit small. Thanks to the Symbian software operating system, it is also possible to install applications.
